Mascots for Meals!

Everyone had a great time at our 1st Annual Mascots for Meals event. We had mascots from 15 local businesses on hand to greet everyone. The businesses also had coupons and free samples to hand out.

We took donations for The Bread Basket food pantry and filled up the Liberty Tax car! Along with the food donations, we held a raffle for tons of great prizes from participating businesses.

A great time was had by all. The weather was great, the sun was shining, and the mascots were fun-filled and energetic!

Mardi Gras Madness

In the grand tradition of Mardi Gras celebrations, the Jaycees did their part and held a party at the Colonial Tavern in downtown Fredericksburg. Although it wasn't held on Fat Tuesday, we brought out the beads, masks, and jello shooters en mass!

The year of the Purple Cow has begun!

This past weekend was the Virginia Jaycees, Year End Convention in Virginia Beach, VA.

We had a lot of great things happen at the convention!

Our Management VP, Sarah, participated in a Polar Plunge. She and another Jaycee got into their bathing suits and went into the Atlantic Ocean in the middle of January! Props to Sarah for taking the plunge!

The 2009 State Board was sworn into office. Two of our own are on the 2009 State Board. Congratulations to Chuck Nelson, State President and Jennifer Adkins, State Community Development Vice President. Current State President, and Past Fredericksburg President Chuck Nelson, also received his Life Membership.

Scott was awarded First Place in the First Timer's Competition. This makes 3 of the last 4 First Timers that have won First Place!

Finally, Valerie was officially sworn in as our 2009 Fredericksburg Jaycees President.

Time to focus on trees!

Now that the parade is done (and was a great success), it's time for everyone to get their Christmas Trees!

We've relocated the Christmas Tree Lot-
We will be selling Christmas trees at Four Mile Fork.

The Christmas trees we have this year are Fraser Firs. They are between 6-8 feet tall. They have excellent needle retention along with a nice scent.
Fraser Firs are the ranked as the number one Christmas tree by the Christmas tree industry.

Location- Four Mile Fork
(corner of Courthouse Rd and Route 1)
In front of Sport & Health, in the same shopping center as Hardees and Hard Times Cafe.
The tree lot will open on Friday, November 28th.
The hours for the lot are-
Monday-Friday, 5pm-9pm,
Saturday & Sunday- 9am-9pm

We hope you had a wonderful time at the parade this past Saturday and are now ready to get your Christmas Tree!!
